What kind of wine are you?

I took this test a couple of days before Christmas and I was really disappointed to be a Chardonnay.
I took it again a few minutes ago and I am now a Pinot Noir, which I much prefer to the lemony taste of Chardonnay. Yes, of course, Pinot is red and yes, I love red.

You Are Pinot Noir

Sophisticated and worldly, you probably know more about wine than most drinkers. Ish...

You have great taste, and you approach all aspects of life with a gourmet attitude. Taste in food and wine, yep!

You believe that the little things in life should be cherished and enjoyed... and of the best quality possible. Definitely. Life is too short to drink bad wine.

And while you may take more time to eat a meal or tour a city, it's always time well spent. Absolument!

Deep down you are: A seductive charmer Bull!
Your partying style: Refined. And you would never call it "partying" Yes, I bloody would!

Your company is enjoyed best with: Stinky expensive cheese. Yep, a slab of Camembert anyday

You Are Chardonnay

Fresh, spirited, and classic - you have many facets to your personality.
You can be sweet and light. Or deep and complex.
You have a little bit of something to offer everyone... no wonder you're so popular.
Approachable and never smug, you are easy to get to know (and love!). (TRUE!;-)

Deep down you are: Dependable and modest (dependable - yes, modest - hmmm...)

Your partying style: Understated and polite

Your company is enjoyed best with: Cold or wild meat (love, love, love meat!!)

Happy New Year Cream! :-)

Hi,

I tried this and was horrified to be a Chardonnay too! Especially as I'm a claret person! Ooops. Have just discovered your food blog Go and Stuff Your Peppers by the way and think it's great.

Would you be interested in joining up to do some food and wine pairing and maybe swap links? I'd love to pair some of my wines to your recipes and would feature your blog on mine. My blog is at http://ladies-with-bottle.blogspot.com/ please have a look at let me know what you think.

Thanks

Sue

Bella, I'm not really that fussed on Chardonnay but I would share a bottle or two with you and yours any day. Happy New Year.

Sivle, Sylvie, Sylvia, Silly moi! I get it! The King Lives!
Glad you like the music, T. x

Welcome, Sue. I haven't updated the food for quite a while now but you're welcome to use recipes. Your wine blog is great! I will put a link on both blogs.

More hip than most, you spot trends before they even really get started.
If something is new and unique, you know about it... and you've probably tried it.
You have a good number of projects, interests, and relationships - but they are all fleeting.
The world is so appealing and diverse, you can't help but seek variety.

Deep down you are: A true flirt

Your partying style: Exclusive. You only party with people you've personally selected.

Your company is enjoyed best with: A big bowl of pasta

This makes me sound like a bit of a bitch, but at least I'm not a chardonnay - lemony taste, you say? More like vomit, if you ask me.

Although, there was a brilliant moment at a student ball I went to last year where my mate, dressed in a beautiful ball gown, spent the entire evening going on about how much she hated Chardonnay and would never drink it, all the time standing with a glass of the stuff in her hand. I let her chuck back a considerable amount before I let her know that they ONLY serve chardonnay at student occasions...

oh, I was a pinot gris, btw. I foolishly assumed it would be in the description somewhere...

T, you had me fooled for a minute.
Completely forgot how much you love the King.

FH, I was wondering what wine you were and there you are a Pinot Grigio or Gris depending on whether you're eating pasta or sauerkraut.
I'm not keen on Chardonnay but I have drunk it in the past but only after finishing the cooking sherry...

Did we become more refined over the holidays Cream, or more honest?.
The same thing has just happened to me, having just done the quiz again, and I am more than glad to be in your company as a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay we are not. x

Seems I'm chardonnay but you are allowed to put a dash of cassis with it. A votre sante.

I'm a Chardonnay.

But then it also posits that I'm "Dependable and Modest", so that kind of throws doubt on the whole schmilblick.

Multiple choice tests - not science.

Looks like there's been a run on Chardonnay!!
Hayden, must go well with Bison, eh?

Elizabeth, who needs a telly when you're in Marrakesh? There's so much to see and do.

Zooms, we must have refined the answers, I think.

Akela, you make me blush! But, Rosé sales have shot up in Britain. A drop of Grenadine in your Chardonnay and Bob's your uncle.

Pi, yes, that makes it a Kir doesn't it. Love it.
Whenever I feel flush, I have a Kir Royal, with bubbly.

Jack, Le Schmilblick! Reminds me of Coluche.

Oh shucks, I am a Chardonnay too, and I don't even care about Champagne and Spumante! Here I am, wanting to see the Australian vineyards were my favorite Shiraz grows, and look where honesty takes me. :-(

Blogger Merisi said...

I do like whites, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Grigio, but Shiraz and Zweigelt are my favorites, and they are reds!

*argh* - I did the test again, I changed everything, except the Australian vineyards, and I am still a Chardonney person. I am crushed.

Are you sure this is not a test concocted by the Chardonney Board???

Goth, JD's too good for this kind of multiple choice test...

Wild? Very understated indeed, HE.

Merisi, I think I agree that this test must've been concocted by Chardonnay cos I've just done it and guess what? Bloody Chardonnay!
Chilean Shiraz or Argentinian Carmenere are my present favourites.

Well, I don't drink wine but I did the test to discover, I'm good ol' chardonnay. But can I just be sweet, refreshing fruit juice? Or wimpy water?

Wimpy water? No way, Gigi. For you a large glass of good old-fashioned, full-bodied, 2007...

Oh! I broke the run of Chardonnay - I'm a MERLOT!
"Smooth, confident, and popular - you're the type most likely to order wine for the whole group.
You seem to breeze through life on your intuition and wit. And no one seems to mind!
You're comfortable in any social situation you find yourself in, and you never feel outclassed.
And while you live a charmed life, you never let it go to your head. You are truly down to earth and a great friend.
Deep down you are: Balanced and mature
Your partying style: Surprisingly wild... when you let loose, you really let loose
Your company is enjoyed best with: Some greasy pizza."

Apart from the pizza, it's spot on. She said modestly.

I've also got a restaurant blog may I point out, called Daphne's Dinners, linked from Chocs Away. Don't visit Brussels without reading it.

French food and wine always tastes better in France. Even when you buy it in France, it loses some of its flavour crossing the channel. As for the Brie, three cheers for Tesco who are still selling Brie de Meaux au lait cru (unpasteurised). No to the cheese police! Smelly cheese forever! (Although I draw the line at that hairy one you see in France, Vacherin Mont d'Or really should be banned).

They're wrong, Mary? So what's your wine, then?

Daphnée, I don't know whether you've been watching the latest food programmes that have been on the telly. Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Gordon Ramsay have stirred up a great debate regarding the food we eat and where it comes from. Asda keep running out of free range chicken and eggs!
You're right about French food tasting better in France. I must get back to Carca soon!
