Blogfriend to Friend in Four Short Hours...

Andrea, you were right!!!

Saturday night I met Cherrypie!!!

She and a friend came up North to race a SAAB at a nearby circuit on Sunday. Cherrypie had often threatened promised to visit our Mediterranean restaurant if she ever found herself in the area. So I booked her a table.

I made sure she and her friend were well taken care of, as I was helping out at the pizzeria half a mile away. It was heaving but I managed to sneak out for ten minutes at around 8pm to meet Cherrypie in the flesh. I had a fair idea what she looked like from her blog photos. As soon as I saw her it felt as if I had known her for ages. I suggested we could meet up later for a drink, then I went back to work.

At 9.30 I found them relaxing over a glass of wine in the restaurant bar. We soon made our way to the tapas bar past the bustling marina pubs, cafés and restaurants.

Over cocktails and glasses of rosé we chatted about blogging, real life, jobs, family, food, wines and holidays.

Cherrypie is exactly how I imagined her to be. Really interesting, tremendously bubbly and totally cool.
The evening started with meeting a Blogfriend. When it ended I found I had made a great friend.

As we parted after midnight, I wished them luck on the circuit which, I am told turned out to be very wet, and promised to keep in touch.

They walked back to their hotel. I found myself sharing a few more glasses of wine and some crispy duck with my Chinese restaurant-owner friend, Tony.

Cherrypie left me a kind comment in our visitors' book. (Click to enlarge.)

Aww..how wonderful for both of you!

For those of us watching from the sidelines I think that we would all agree, that You and Cherry would be as real, warm, and cool, as you are in the blogosphere.
Wow. Nice moment in Time.

But, one thing though... How did you know it would be her?

HE, thank you, D...I know your firstname now!
Yes, it was absolutely great! Like two good "old" friends.

Bella, I think Cherrybabes was on about the food...;o) I am lucky to have met HER.

That's great that you got to meet a fellow blogger, and what a lovely comment she left for you!

If ever I get up your way I'll certainly check out your restaurant after reading the glowing comments in your visitor's book. :)

I was being deliberately ambiguous with my choice of adjectives.

It was a wonderful evening. Bubbly? I think the copious amounts of fizz helped.

I've hardly stopped smiling all weekend, despite the Saabs and their owners xxx

That's just lovely!

I have met three bloggers (that I don't know already) and two out of three were indeed real!

One day.... I hope to sign your visitors book myself!
If I am sober enough to write of course, otherwise I'll send a certificate! :O)

Cherrybabes, it was a delicious evening. Yes, the Fizz, Singapore Sling, Rosé... I wonder how you managed to finish the course.
Saab owners! ;o) xxx

Trac, you would've loved it! Food, wine and REAL friends... What more can you ask for?
You not sober? I can't believe it! x

One of these days you'll probably get a visit from us too. We've got to pay a visit to some friends in Aberdeen, so we'll probably drop by.

Merisi, we also get very melancholic and wet when it rains. I am glad we're not a touch further South otherwise we'd be up to our waist in water... What a June!

One day, Christine, one day. You never know!
