The Power of Imagination...
The comments I received about the last post ranged from concern about my lack of sleep between two chairs to slightly sexy innuendos about kilts and French names...
From compliments about the Marina photo (I like it too) to cunning undercover detective work. Some of my concerned blogfriends wondered how I got bolted out of my own house.
I have always believed that imagination is a most wonderful tool.
Below is something I drew to help you unlock the mystery.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

The innuendos were entirely of your own imagination...
Bolted out..
I think the Easter rabbit did it so that you couldn't turn him/her/it into a delicious stew....
I see a beautiful, colorful salad!
I know, Caro! Wild imagination...
You see, Goth, the chocolate bunny boiled into a nice choccie sauce...
I see what you mean, Mary.
And wild synchronicity - look what came in my email next to your comment about Lucy laying the chocolate eggs:

Hilarious, Caro!
Ah I see, you had taken LSD and consequently popped the keys through the letterbox when you locked the door?
Ah, when Cream left earlier in the day, he shut the door too hard(not knowing his own strength due to wine consumption). The resonance set up by the energy of the door slam (See: Newton's Third Law)vibrated, until the bolt slipped, wedging just tightly enough to lock the unfortunate Cream out of his cozy nest.
Alcohol + door /E = Two Chairs!
Or.. it was very large Rats that have a taste for gourmet cooking and fine wine... They had a Rat party after Cream had left for the day, and as they lay about in a drunken revery, one of them got a case of the giggles and remarked how fun it would be to bolt Cream out of his home. Standing on each others shoulders, they managed to get high enough(after a few falls and lots of Rat sniggling)to slip the bolt. When Cream came home and tried to open the door...the fat Rats, reclining against the walls, giggled, snorked and shushh each other, feeling sure they had really done in poor Cream this time. They rolled around, laughing and pounding their little fists on the floor as they heard his feet stomping away into the distance. After a few Rat high fives, they worked together to get the bolt undone, slipped out, and are now telling the Rat-tail of their exploit to every rodent with ears.
Wonderful painting Cream, it speaks of alternate realities divided by time and space!
Hmmm.... not sure about the meaning, but very colourful.
I can't write what I think it reminds me of, don't want to show myself up!
It is painfully obvious to me that this is a graphic illustration depicting the mechanics of human reproduction.
Entitled the Garden Of Earthly Delights, this piece represents the inner turmoil and explosion of chemical activity that largely goes unnoticed during the horizontal mambo.
I am particularily drawn to the expressive detail involved in highlighting the vas deferens and fallopian tubes.
Akelamalu, what's LSD?
L, you have a fantastic imagination! I can't remember what really happened because I was rat-arsed at the time.
As for the painting, come to think of it, there are indeed two halves. And yes, for the last year or so, there have been two sides of me, each pulling one way. I am going for the dreamy one!
Come out with it, Dizzy, we're all adults! There are more paintings of the same style coming up soon...
HE, "the inner turmoil and explosion of chemical activity that largely goes unnoticed during the horizontal mambo" you must be a shrink, mate! You've got it in one!
You and Ldahl should open a practice together.
Thanks for the psychoanalysis.
Hmm, reminiscent of early Kandinsky, with overtones of Hokusai's green period .... suggest you buy a Norton recliner for your office.
Oooh, my, Daphnée! Forgive my ignorance, I've never heard of these two artists but I am absolument flattened...on my new Norton!
Not LSD? Too much pot then?
I did try some when I was a student but "I didn't inhale" just like Bill...
In that case I give up - who locked you out????????
Hmm... I've come back to look at this twice and I'm still hesitant to tell you what I see only because I'm sure I'm totally off base.
I see the beach. I see sand, palm trees, the sea. I even see marine life.
Akelamalu, that is the question!
Anna, it is whatever you can imagine. But Ldahl's interpretation is the closest to the truth...
I've got it. You bolted the door and climbed through the cat flap to get out!
LDahl's story may have a point to it: somewhere I read about a cat who taught herself to open the refrigerator door. So´, there we are, all Cream needs, is a cat, twice: to open the door and to eat the rat. Get a cat in boots, Cream!
:-))))
Saluti from the merry Cats of Vienna!
boy ain't that the truth!
I see lots of things that don't have nothin' to do with you gettin' locked out, Cream.
So now I NEED to know!
