New Year Resolutions....

Sorry to have disappeared off the face of the Earth for so long...

I tried to take the bull by the horns but you can see the result for yourselves...

The trip to Carcassonne was great. Lots of wine, foie gras and kilometres... My French friend was looking for some property to develop into gites or chambres d'hôtes. He is also thinking about offering cookery lessons to the guests.

Casa del Mar, our tapas bar celebrated its first year last week!! It was very busy in the summer but autumn was not so hot and I honestly began to worry about it. But December came and all is well again. The British seem to think that tapas are a summer food and that in the winter, the Spanish starve themselves into hibernation. So we've introduced the tried and tested "Carne y dos verduras" (Meat and two veg) to attract the more conservative among diners...

The other two restaurants are performing well. But I am definitely not!

On a personal level, I think I have lost my way and no longer know which direction to take. So for the last few weeks I have been sitting on the fence. I try to focus on something that really matters and then get lost in daydreams. By the time I emerge from the haze it is time for bed and more dreams.

I have been playing lots of Sudoku. It is the only thing I can do that completely takes my mind off everything else. I have books upon books of this damn puzzle scattered around the house, mainly in bathrooms. I have often got into the shower with a dead leg numbed by a long session on the loo. It also numbs my mind and that's a good thing.

I haven't been leaving comments on your blogs but I do keep reading them with RSS.

A la prochaine...

Thought you'd run away to France for good... glad you're still here.

Without meaning to be patronising, have you thought about seeing a counsellor? Your bloggie friends will always be here, but sometimes it's good to have someone totally neutral to talk to - I know it's helped me before.

Thanks, Mary... Everything passes and we learn stuff while it is passing.

Yes, Annie, while I was in France I felt like staying there.
I have been seeing a counsellor for the last month or so. Another few sessions and I hope that the fog will dissipate.

Yes, Caro they are great!

I tried to leave a comment here and blogger ate it.

Cream mon frere, it pains me to see you like this. Maybe, sometimes we need the limbo or fence sitting before we can leap back into life, like autumn leaves and winter then spring. You will leap back, Cream, one day.

Between Blogger being a biotch and being busy, sick with the flu or just having nothing to write about, I've been absent a lot too.
BTW in the Caribbean a Panty Ripper is Coconut Rum and Pineapple juice.
Definitely better than the bullish pantyripper, although your youtube selection again was sick AND funny, just the way I like them. BRAVO!

I am off to Spain to try and unravel things away from work and home.
As you say Gigi, ma soeur, I think I have been limboing for too long and it is just about time for the great leap. Ta!

Hope you're ok Janet.
