I like the sound of breaking glass...

Two weeks ago I nearly broke this mirror trying to adjust the tiles around it!
I am a tiny bit superstitious... Like I always put on my right shoe before my left...

I had to sit down after the shock of nearly ending up with seven years of bad luck. I made myself a cuppa and then carried on...
All the mirrors are now finished...Thank God! I was starting to hate tiles...
A bit of varnishing, a lot of cleaning and we'll be ready to open next wednesday... Photos will be coming by Monday, once the place has been cleaned up.
Fingers crossed...

My mom heard that, "if you put your purse on the floor, you'll be poor." Ever since then she's never done it.

I've know people so supersticious that we couldn't pass on opposite sides of a pole because it was bad luck.

I just shrug it off and laugh.

Not superstitious...honest. But I did run out in the rain at my wedding because my granny told me that if i got rain on my veil I would be rich. An guess what? I am. Maybe not in the typical cash sense, but certainly in the happiness department.

WOW! That is like nothing I imagined, and its absolutely elegant! You have such a great visual sense! Really beautiful cream - I can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

I'll be in a conference all next week - dawn-to-midnight stuff - so if I can't log on to wish you well on opening day, know that I'm thinking it and mentally sending congratulations!

I like the way you've kept the squareness of the tiles whilst also cracking them... very ingenious!

Are you going to be encouraing any plate smashing in your restaurant for some further mosaics?

I like what you did with the tile around the mirror. I'm not superstitious at all, by the way, so if you ever need someone to break your mirrors, gimme a call!

I never leave my bag on the floor. Superstitious? Who me?

Cream, right foot in first, always! Glad you didn't break that mirror.

It's looking good, it's looking good.

Juliana, leaving your bag on the floor may not be a good idea because someone might pinch it!

Hobbes, it rained on your wedding day? Ahhhh...

Thanks, Hayden! Enjoy your conference...I will post finished stuff next week.

Andrea, can't wait for the opening night to come to an end! Opening nights are usually full of headaches.

Thanks, Ale. To think that people throw broken tiles away!

Caro, you need a flat metal plate, a cloth and whack!!!
Lift the cloth and then place the broken bits carefully on the wall leaving a slight gap in between. Dark tiles required light grout and light ones, dark grout. Food colouring is great!

KG, you sound reasonably unsuperstitious!

Wendy, you are welcome! Our tapas are half what you paid in London!

Iluvnyc, opening night is Wednesday, if everything goes according to plan...But we aren't advertising it so that we have a slow build-up...

Trac, I am not clever really. It takes no brains to smash tiles and stick them back together again. I have two weeks in Spain booked for 20th Feb...I hope I can manage to get away...Bad luck if I don't!

Viking, I didn't think superstitions would stop you! Have a smashing time!

Gigi, I don't even remember when it started. But, I really never ever put on my left shoe first.

DC, I was sure you wouldn't be superstitious! You're a scientist!

I think I am not superstitious, but sometimes I wonder. I don't believe in all this long term ones (like 7 years of bad luck), but sometimes... bad things comes to my mind. I am trying to get a rid of them then and I am happy person again :)

btw. I think I always put my left shoe first... hmmm

Shyha, I am lucky I am not in Poland this morning! The BBC has just announced that it is minus 28 in your country! Wrap up well!

Val, Just surviving! But it's good! The holiday is planned and flights paid for but I hope I make it! The first few weeks are the most important in a restaurant's make-or-break!

It was really cold this morning but, fortunately, I live far, far away from the polish cold pole (city of SuwaƂki) :)
