Sing your heart and soul...

"Without music, life would be a mistake!"
Nietzsche, a long time ago...

Song cleanses the soul like water cleans the body!
Cream, a couple of minutes ago...
So, in the shower, in the car or wherever you are... Just scream and shout!
If someone tells you that you cannot sing, just say:
"It sounds better with an inner ear!"

i'm loving all your illos, is this due to your replacement tablet? Very, very nice colours and blends! I was talking about music on my walk with my neighbor today how the song imagine influenced so many people. It is pretty amazing the power of lyrics and song!!!

Frank Zappa once said that "Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid." (This was obviosuly written by the classical musical genius Zappa, not the irrevenrent in-your-face-for-a-laugh guy. :)

Hayden, well the inner ear is the one we usually listen to, anyway.

Val, the replacement tablet is not here yet... It's just because I am experimenting with Painter.

Andrea, Zappa may have been a rebel, but it is true what he said about music!

Stephen, Welcome!
No, need to be able to play! Just hum!

When I'm in the car alone, I "really sing!". I imagine it sounds quite nice! You notice I said "imagine"....

Zappa was good in all of his masks. I'm reminded that Vacslav Havel appointed him an abassador of Czechoslavakia when he won the top office.... a gesture that delighted me and raised both men in my estimation.

cream, the more often I visit, the more I really love your art. there is something so alive about this one, the movement and life of the music is palpable....

Caro, it's a great idea, indeed! I used to do it when snorkelling! Sounds great!

Gigi, I drew it from a picture of a Greek bar...Should've been lots of broken plates!

Janet, the same here! Sometimes, in the car, I sing along very loud and I really feel good! I've seen a few drivers doing the same.

Hayden, I didn't know that. So how long did he last in the post, then?

Soldier, I like that! Once I sang Stevie Wonder's "I just called to say I love you!" Everyone had a good laugh!
I used to sing it to Karen on the phone and she loved it! Is she tone-deaf?

Howdy Cream, I'm loving all these new drawings of yours!

I can't help being reminded of my uncle with this post... He was such a talented musician. He played in Mariachi bands all his life, making people smile whether they wanted to or not!

These colors are delicious and the illustration is so happy! I have always liked to sing, but not many like to listen. Now I just sing songs to my dog and she rolls her eyes...

Thanks, Viking! I love Mariachi music! It's so happy! The sound of the trumpets, ahh...

Shyha, I'll have to check this one out!

Carla, I'm glad you like the drawing!
I'd love to be able to sing well but it's such a massive undertaking that I'll just carry on singing in the shower and the car!
Your dog should applaud you!

Like Guyana Gal, I imagine a Mediterranean cafe but I think it's in Greece! The great thing about great music is the way it unites young and old, just as your drawing indicates.

I'm a guitar player. If I had the same look on my face as your illustration does when I was playing, I would say that I was playing a truly familiar song that I love to play for whomever is willing to listen. I love the face. It's a look of confidence, enjoyment, and familiarity.

Yes, I can understand what you mean Brian. He looks like he knows the song inside out and he is just enjoy playing it!
You lucky guy! Being able to play is a gift!
